Henan Province · Kaifeng City Chery 5MW/10MWh Energy Storage Project

Main Equipment:
The current phase of the project has a power station installed capacity of approximately5MW/10.03MWh. The entire energy storage station consists of 2 energy storage units. Each unit comprises 1integrated step-up system (containing 1 250okVA dry-type transformer, a combiner box, a high-voltage outgoingline cabinet, etc.) and 1 energy storage integration container (containing 1 set of 5.015Mwh energy storage batter-

ies, 12 units of 210KW PCS, a fire protection system, a liquid cooling system, etc.).

Technical Process:
The 10kV main electrical connection for this energy storage project phase adopts asingle-bus configuration. Each integrated step-up system is connected via cable to the 10kV outgoing line cabinetin the primary equipment cabin. The power station is connected to two sections of the substation’s 10kV busbar(specifically, Cabinet 12 and Cabinet 13 lines) through two separate 10kV grid connection points. A reasonabledesign connection between the two sections of the plant’s busbar enables the normal operation of the energystorage system. The energy storage system charges during off-peak load periods and discharges during peak loadperiods to reduce peak demand. It connects to the grid in two groups (each group 2.5MW/5MWh), with the systemintegrated into the 10kV busbar of the substation.

Social Benefits:
The project provides peak shaving and valley filling, reduces the user’s electricity demand, alleviates grid pressure, and decreases infrastructure investment on the power generation side. The energystorage equipment can respond instantly to sudden power shortages, providing reliable power supply to userswithin a short timeframe. It effectively stores renewable energy, thereby reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.
